taken from a poem The Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure. c.1795.
The poem is 'On Lady E.Mansell' neice to the mother of Sir Hervey Elwes.
The portrait is possibly Emma Hamilton in the guise of a Bacchante,she was often depicted posing as subjects from mythology.

The Universal Magazine was a periodical published in London in the period 1747–1814 by John Hinton and W.
