Each stud stamped JB.
Brogden first won a prize medal at the Great Exhibition in 1851. As he collected further medals these were recorded on the label stamp, and the next prize was won in Paris in 1855. The stamped mark, JB in a oval, was entered at Goldsmiths' Hall in 1848.
