French 18ct snake locket pendant in a most unusual shade of enamel  c.1870 
The cabochon garnet locket is hinged to reveal a second inner glazed compartment.
French eagles head assay mark.
The locket is encircled by a lavender enamel snake, the eyes of the snake enamelled black and white.
Inclusion to the garnet and some wear to areas of the enamel.
