Delightful 15 carat gold Regency harlequin gem-set butterfly brooch c.1830.
The wings of the insect are set with facetted amethysts and citrines, the body with aqua,citrine and tourmaline.
The frame features the typical bead decoration and even the original curved pin.The butterfly is in immaculate  condition save for the tiny curved antennae being sadly absent.
