Unusual romantic sepia miniature of a courting couple by a cottage after a work by Sylvester Harding c.1783.
The miniature is in its original heavy, gilt-metal pendant frame bordered by facetted pastes. 
The stipple engraving of the composition was produced by Peltro WilliamTomkins, (pupil of Bartolozzi) in 1783 an example of which is held in the BM collection.
