Fine Rococo period girandole pendant c.1740.
The stylised bow is set in silver with gold foliate additions of leaves and flower heads, the diamond settings embellished with C-scrolls, the three pear drops set with table-cut diamonds,the top setting with a rose-cut diamond and its crest a further three table-cuts.

Throughout the 18th century the girandole was the favourite form for earrings, necklaces and costume ornament to wear at the stomacher and can be found in Central and Northern Europe with many local variations.
